This experience initiated a gripping brush with Villanelles, riveting word games introduced to the common people in mid-17th century France by Jean Passerat. Jan wrote a booklet entitled Poetry Basically, at the suggestion of her son, Dr. Heath Hetherly, Chief Psychologist for the Veteran’s Hospital in Daytona, Florida.
