Vlad Dracula was a cruel sadistic Prince that tortured and murdered 80 thousand of his subjects, sometimes inviting all of the citizens of a town to dinner at his Palace and then spiking their food with hemlock, poisoning and killing off the entire population in one night. Others were killed by being impaled alive on stakes. The Prince would walk amongst these poor souls, collecting their blood in a golden chalice and then while sitting in a custom-made red leather chair, he would dip his bread in their blood and feast it. Mythical folklore suggests that when drinking the blood of the young, he would pour some over the chair in an offering to blood drinkers all over the world. Three centuries later, Florin Balan, a follower of Dracula owned the chair, often making the same blood offerings from the same blood-filled golden chalice. One night during this ceremony, a lightning strike touch the chalice in Florin’s hand, searing him into the chair forever. The red leather chair, containing Florin’s spirit has survived for centuries, living on the blood of young people, with all related deaths going unsolved. In 2015 West Village Detective Robert Moreland investigates the death of a bloodless young girl whose body was found in a red leather chair. The detective is drawn into the world of vampires, blood drinkers and the occult in his quest of the chair and the killer within. Moreland and a blood drinking cult end up trying to find the deadly chair after it escapes from police custody, because of a misjudgment by the New York detective. The chair is sold over and over to unsuspecting buyers and when in danger, the chair can teleport on its own, causing the cultists and the detective to follow a trail of bloodless young bodies through, America, Poland and France. The final conclusion is as surprising to the characters in the book as it is to the reader.
